Love Yourself

a space to return to yourself

Love Yourself is a space for shamanic and Kundalini practices, created to help you fall in love with yourself. Shamanism connects you to the Earth’s heartbeat, whilst Kundalini Yoga connects you to your own. Through movement, mantra and meditation, the practice helps settle your body, awaken the beauty within and create space for the quiet voice inside you to be heard.

A little about me

I’m Karen, and I created this space for shamanic and kundalini practices so you can easily fall in love with yourself!

I’ve fallen in love with people, places and practices over the years and that has been truly wonderful but still something was missing. Shamanic kundalini yoga rocked up into my life twelve months ago; I fell in love with myself and I found the missing peace. SKY opens your energies to join the Earth’s energies, allowing you greater peace, love and pure magic.

I graduated from the Shamanka School of Shamanism in 2015 in Shamanka Practitioner Training in Healing and the Shamanic Arts, followed in 2016 by my advanced practitioner certificate. Kundalini came whispering in 2026 and I graduated as Shamanic Kundalini Yoga Teacher from The School of Shamanic Kundalini Yoga and Healing Arts.

This is my invitation to you, come and fall in love with yourself.

The Practice

Two Ancient Paths

One embodied Practice

Shamanism and Kundalini are distinct traditions. In Karen’s practice, they meet through a shared attention to breath, energy, rhythm and connection.

01

Shamanic Kundalini Yoga

TWO HEARTBEATS AS ONE

This is a powerful fusion of ancient practices. Shamanism connects you to the Earth’s heartbeat, whilst Kundalini yoga connects you to your own heartbeat.

Modern Day Magic

When these two beat as one, the result is a refreshing of each and every cell in your being.

With regular practice, the monkey brain stops jumping as though electrocuted, the hamster yawns and clambers off his wheel, and you have space for the quiet voice within you to be heard.

“Honestly? It’s modern-day magic created from ancient practices.”

02

What is Shamanism

Fall in love with the earth

Shamanism has always been my connection to the Great Spirit, whoever or whatever you think that is—the greater Universe.

For me, the practice of Shamanism is twofold. It is the conscious act of putting yourself into trance—accessing non-ordinary reality—with the help of the drum, the rattle, the voice, stillness or dance.

Connection to the earth

This enables a strong sense of knowing. Traditionally, it is here that the Wise Person would obtain information suitable for the tribe—which direction the mammoths were moving, when the skies would open and bless the parched Earth with rain, or what herb to use to cure what malady.

It is a place full of information and, if you know what to look for and what to ask—setting a clear intention—then the answer is there.

The other side of Shamanism, for me, is how I live my life on a day-to-day basis here in ordinary reality. Walking amongst the trees daily, opening my heart and mind to them and hearing them whisper. Doing all I can to protect Mother Earth. Listening in the quiet to hear the things that are meant for me, and at times for other people too. Seeing in the dark. Shamanism imbues all I do and how I think.

And, possibly most importantly, being soft with the two-legged, the four-legged, the finned, the furred, the creepy crawlies, the plant people and the stone people. Each has a place and an energy on this Earth, and I respect, honour and am creative with them.

“Shamanism has the side effect of making you fall in love with the Earth.”

What is Kundalini

AWAKEN THE BEAUTY WITHIN YOU

We are all born with Kundalini. Look at babies and children and their beautiful connection with the world. Their eyes are wide with wonder at the smallest and simplest things. This is their Kundalini energy connecting them to the world.

The Knowledge of Kundalini

The knowledge of Kundalini arrived in my life twelve months ago, in July 2025. I say knowledge because, now that I have spent the year studying it, I realise it has always been in my life, but I had no label for it.

During the spring of 2025, the trees were whispering to me how to move, how to walk and how to stretch. There were times I was walking around the woods, holding my arms and hands in such a way that I was laughing at myself, wondering what on Earth I was doing.

The message I kept hearing was, “Liberate your armpits.”

Whilst it was a bonkers message, it made so much sense to me. Think about it—your armpits, what love do they get? None. Instead, just low-level abuse: shaving, waxing, primping, and rarely getting the chance to see the sun.

So I stretched up, and it felt so good. Then the words “Kundalini energy” appeared on a shaman’s blog talking about stretching, and something inside me rang gold.

As we grow and the world starts to make its mark through school and friends, this energy subsides and coils up at the base of the spine. It re-emerges when we see things that awaken awe within us, when we feel goosebumps, when engaging in consensual sexual activity, or through the act of giving birth itself.

But this energy can also be awoken through specific yoga practices. This is what we do in SKY classes: awaken our Kundalini, which then clears the imprints in our chakras as it flows upwards to All That Is—the Divine, the Universe, the Great Spirit—that which has thousands of names and no name.

“This energy—this Kundalini and our clear chakras—is what helps us to fall back in love with ourselves. It is beautiful.”
